Celebrating Exporting Excellence

Posted 5 years ago

I’m honoured to be on the panel for the 2019 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards, my third time as a judge for these prestigious awards.

This year the Awards celebrate 30 years of acknowledging Queensland’s export champions and future leaders of global trade, showcasing winners in 16 category winners and crowning one proud business the Premier of Queensland’s Exporter of the Year.

Every year I am impressed by what Queensland businesses are achieving on the export front. As a judge, I am privileged to learn about the innovative approaches they take to competing in global markets, plus the positive impact their products and services are having on communities all around the world.

And it’s not just the major manufacturing companies and big-name businesses that are transforming their industries both here and overseas. Last year, about 25 per cent of entrants had annual sales of less than $5 million.

I encourage enterprises of every size to consider entering this year’s Awards. The Awards give exporters the opportunity to make their company and international business story known and have their contribution to Queensland’s robust and diverse economy acknowledged.

It’s free to enter, and there’s free help with writing your submission.

Queensland winners go on to compete in the Australian Export Awards. You’ll make valuable new connections, and winning an award can open doors for your business in markets around the world.

  • Have you achieved innovative and distinctive export outcomes for your business over the past year?
  • Has it been a year of new markets, new marketing strategies, new products, or new technologies?
  • What is it about your organisation that makes it a successful exporter?
  • How are you sustaining your export growth and competitive advantage?
  • What value does exporting bring to your business?

If you have a great story to tell about your company’s export achievements, please consider submitting an entry before Wednesday 31 July 2019. You’ll find more details here: www.exportawards.qld.gov.au.

I look forward to reading it when the judging begins!
