Connecting Vietnam visitors with Australian tech transfer experts

Posted 5 years ago

Impact Innovation’s role in helping academic teams navigate the complexity of translating research to impact was under the spotlight during CSIRO’s recent Aus4Innovation program of activities for a visiting Vietnamese delegation.

Our Managing Director, Brian Ruddle, spoke with the delegates in Brisbane at the start of a week-long tour of Australia visiting many different research organisations to find out how they manage technology transfer and build skills capacity in delivering outcomes from discoveries.

It was an opportunity for the heads of several Vietnamese research organisations and government departments to gain insight into the various ways research can be translated to impact, as well as to understand what is needed to build a successful technology transfer/commercialisation office in a research organisation.

Impact Innovation’s General Manager, Cameron Johns, accompanied the delegation as part of our two-year program supporting CSIRO and Aus4Innovation to help build a fit-for-purpose model for Vietnam’s emerging research commercialisation sector.

If you’d like to know more about Impact Innovation’s work with similar organisations, both in Australia and overseas, contact Brian or Cameron on 07 3041 1128 or send an email to info@impactinnovation.com.

Aus4Innovation is a A$10 million development assistance program that aims to strengthen Vietnam’s innovation system, prepare for and embrace opportunities associated with Industry 4.0, and help shape Vietnam’s innovation agenda in science and technology.
